What do bones produce?

Most bones contain bone marrow, which are either red or yellow. The red bone marrow is responsible for the production of most of our body's red and white blood cells, while the yellow is involved with fat & energy.

What can I take to strengthen my bones?

The NHS states that adults require 700mg of calcium a day. This should be achievable through the consumption of a varied and balanced diet, however if you're vegan and on a strict plant-based diet this may be difficult as dairy is considered to be the best source of this mineral. With this in mind a vegan calcium supplement to fill the gap may be useful.

What is the best vitamin for bones and joints?

Vitamin D is necessary for strong joints and bones. Without it, our bodies are unable to effectively absorb calcium. Many studies have shown that adults with low levels of vitamin D are more likely to have joint pain, while children who lack vitamin D may develop a bone-weakening condition called rickets.

What natural supplements are good for osteoporosis?

Osteoporosis is a condition whereby the bones weaken and become fragile, making them more likely to break. Along with calcium and vitamin D supplements, it is recommended that soy isoflavones, boron, Magnesium and Vitamin K should be considered by those suffering with osteoporosis.
