What is Arthritis?

It is a common misconception that Arthritis is a single disease, which is certainly not the case. The word actually means joint inflammation and the condition covers over a hundred diseases that are classed as Rheumatic and are linked to swelling, joint pain and joint stiffness. Out of all these conditions Rheumatoid Arthritis and Osteoarthritis are the most common, although it is very important to remember they are very different.

Rheumatoid Arthritis is caused when the body's joints are inflamed, possibly because of an  autoimmune response or because of a virus.  The immune system  attacks the synovium (the cell lining inside the joint) by mistake. It is a chronic type of Arthritis and has the ability to severely disable sufferers.  Osteoarthritis occurs due to wear and tear of our joints. As damage to the cartilage increases joint function decreases. Arthritis can affect people at any age and over 60% of people that have it are actually under 65.

It may come as a surprise, but doctors are still not sure what the actual cause of Arthritis is.  Whatever beliefs the various experts have about the cause, we can be sure of one thing, and that is the actual problem is the body's normal healing function is no longer able to do the job of managing the repair of damage caused by Arthritis.

Serrapeptase for Arthritis Relief

Generally pain from Osteoarthritis responds more quickly to Serrapeptase than the pain from Rheumatoid Arthritis, which is likely to need treatment that is more extensive. Studies have shown that the best results for the latter come from the use of enzymes and diet control. A study in the US showed that people eating a typical Mediterranean diet experienced a considerable improvement and is in line with other studies that suggested that high carbohydrate diets that are processed and starchy promote disease.

Proteolytic enzymes, such as Serrapeptase, have some important potential benefits  in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. Conventional treatment of this devastating disease normally involves the use of drugs that are dangerous and powerful, such as steroidal and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, and even more exotic medications, including D-penicillamine or  methotrexate.  The best thing you can say about these drugs is that they may provide a level of relief that is only short-term symptomatic . At worst, it is possible they will kill you!.

A number of studies in people and animals suffering from rheumatoid arthritis has suggested that enzyme therapy can control symptoms of inflammation and pain like conventional drugs, but with none of the unpleasant side effects, which are virtually unheard of in enzymes. Doctors and medical professionals who have experience of prescribing proteolytic enzymes have found that prophylactic treatments can offer  wide ranging of benefits which include:

  • Improved mobilisation, reducing the amount of muscle atrophy, arthritis and pain when movin
  • Less risk of complications due to thromboembolic conditions
  • Reduced discomfort and pain from swelling
  • A lower risk of capsular or cartilage damage because of immobility

How can Serrapeptase Help?

Serrapeptase helps considerably because it removes dead and scar tissue and clears out all of the inflammation. By clearing away the problem tissue, the body’s own healing system is able to replace it with healthy tissue. The suggested dose is 3 x 80,000iu capsules 3 times a day on an empty stomach. This can be increased to 4 x 3 for greater relief. Gradually reduce it down to just 1 capsule a day.
