Anti-fungal supplements can help minimise free-radical damage to the body and can help with Candida because they kill the candida yeast. Antifungals are almost as important as probiotics in Candida treatment, in fact they actually complement each other. See more info about candida and its treatment.

Free radicals are highly reactive compounds that are created in the body during normal metabolic functions or introduced from the environment, such as by exposure to pollution and other toxins. Inherently unstable, free radicals contain "extra” energy which they try to reduce by reacting with certain chemicals in the body, which interferes with the cells’ ability to function normally. Antioxidents combat free radicals in a few ways: they may reduce the energy of the free radical, stop the free radical from forming in the first place, or interrupt an oxidizing chain reaction to minimise the damage caused by free radicals.

Candida and anti-fungal health supplements

Antifungal supplements that will help with Candida inlcude oil of oregano, garlic and grapefruit seed extract - all very potent antifungals and can play an important part of a Candida treatment plan.

Antifungals are almost as important as probiotics in Candida treatment, in fact they actually complement each other.

Antifungals kill the Candida yeast, then the probiotics replenish your gut with good bacteria and prevent the Candida from overgrowing again. Taking probiotics alone will certainly slow the Candida overgrowth and perhaps even reduce it over time, but for fast results you need to be taking a good antifungal too.
There are a number of natural antifungals that you can take in supplement form or even add into your diet. These work by breaking down the cell walls of the Candida yeast, and are an important part of your diet. Popular antifungal treatments include caprylic acid, grapefruit seed extract, garlic and oil of oregano.
