INFLAMMATION
About
Inflammation
Inflammation
is a natural reaction to injury or infection.
Short-term inflammation can help the body heal from these injuries or
infections, but if the inflammation continues it’s a sign that the body is
deficient in essential fats and a variety of vitamins and minerals.
It may also be that the body is constantly bombarded with allergens (such
as dairy, wheat, hot spices, sugar, etc) which cause the body to over-react.
Nutrition Facts & Diet Advice
for Inflammation
Consider the following nutrition guidelines:
-
Avoid
common allergens or irritants such as dairy, wheat, caffeine, alcohol,
sugar and hot spices.
-
Eat
a diet high in fibre, with plenty of vegetables and some fruit, brown
rice, millet, beans and lentils, nuts and seeds.
-
Eat
fresh pineapple every day (not tinned).
This contains bromelain which helps protein to be digested and
helps reduce inflammation.
-
Drink
at least 1½ litres of spring or filtered water every day.
