What is Dandruff?
Dandruff
is a common scalp condition in which dead skin looking like white flakes are
shed. The most common cause of
dandruff is seborrhea, which is inflammation of the oil-secreting glands.
Deficiencies of B Complex vitamins, essential fatty acids and selenium
can also contribute to dandruff, as can excess sugar and refined carbohydrate
consumption.

Following the
nutrition advice below can significantly help to alleviate
dandruff:

Eat
a large percentage of your diet as raw vegetables and fruit.

Also
eat some almonds, hazelnuts, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds and pumpkin
seeds every day.

Every
day have a tablespoon of linseeds with two large glasses of water, and 1-2
Brazil nuts.

Drink
at least 1½ litres of water per day.

Avoid
fried foods, dairy products (except sheep or goat yoghurt), sugar, white
flour, and chocolate.

Avoid
excess alcohol.

It
may help if you add a little vinegar to the rinsing water after washing
your hair.
