The recent
International Samento Conference, held in Brighton, England
in September 2004, has revealed a potentially groundbreaking
piece of information - one that is set to turn the medical
establishment upside down.
Many of us in
the 'alternative' health profession are very used to finding
Yeast Infection and Chronic Fatigue symptoms side by side.
After all, low immune function can result in increased
risk of fungal infection. However, this could itself be
evidence of a far more serious bacterial infection, Lyme
Borreliosis - the bacterium that causes Lyme Disease.
There are
about 150,000 people with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) in
the UK. In an informal study conducted by the American Lyme
Disease Alliance (ALDA), 90.3% of patients diagnosed with
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome were found to have Lymes
Borreliosis infection.
Lyme Disease
is treatable with antibiotics, but some of the best results
have been achieved with Samento.
Samento is
now available in liquid form, which the manufacturers say is
about 20 times the strength of their capsule form (and
substantially more economical than capsules).
The Samento product page gives links to hundreds of
scientific studies, and more will follow.
Watch this
space for the latest information on Samento.

"There are
very few symptoms where you shouldn't consider Lyme,
especially given that a quarter of the U.S. population may
be affected. More than 50 percent of ill people may have
Lyme contributing to their condition."
W. D. Cowden,
M.D. Texas
So, what is
Lyme Disease?
Lyme disease is
caused by a tick bite.
Infection may
give no symptoms, or may cause only a rash around the site
of the tick bite, or it may cause widespread disease that
can affect many organs and tissues.
Who Is at
Risk for Lyme Disease?
Everyone
is at risk for Lyme disease, including newborns. "Of the
5,000 children I've treated, 240 have been born with the
disease", says the world's leading Lyme paediatric
specialist Charles Ray Jones, M.D.
A renowned
authority in the field of integrative medicine, W. Lee
Cowden, M.D. of Texas, who was present at the Brighton
Conference this September, says:
"There are
very few symptoms where you shouldn't consider Lyme,
especially given that a quarter of the U.S. population may
be affected. More than 50 percent of ill people may have
Lyme contributing to their condition."
Investigations
have shown a wide range of health problems to be associated
with the infection:
Parkinson's
Disease, Lupus, Fibromyalgia,
Crohn's Disease,
Chronic
Colds, Lung Infection,
Asthma,
Diabetes,
Psoriasis,
Rheumatoid Arthritis,
Hypothyroidism, and many others.
At September's
conference, it also became evident that there may well be
other ways of becoming infected - including other insects
such as Mosquitoes and possibly even intimate human contact.
The NHS
currently only employ the Elisa test which is perhaps 75%
unreliable. The only effective tests are available from
Igenex.com and bowen.com.

The true number of patients
killed in the UK by the hospital superbug MRSA is double the
official figure, according to campaigners of MRSA Support.
MRSA - or methicillin resistant
staphylococcus aureus - can lead to complications such as
pneumonia, meningitis and blood poisoning. It is resistant
to most antibiotics.
The bug is harmless to healthy
people - and is carried by many in the nose and armpits -
but can prove fatal to those with a weakened immune system
and those having surgery.
Whilst MRSA is resistant to most
antibiotics, early indications show that
Samento is
effective against MRSA.

What's the autumn season without
pumpkins and halloween? This is the time to pick up some
extra pumpkins to make into delicious and healthy dishes.
Creamy Pumpkin Soup
1/2 cup of olive oil or butter
2 cups finely chopped onions
1 cup finely chopped celery
1 red or green chilli pepper,
deseeded and chopped
6 cups of chicken stock or broth
2 cups of pumpkin puree (ready
made, or freshly made)
1 bay leaf
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 cup evaporated milk
Parmesan cheese, grated or very
thinly sliced, for garnishing
Fresh chopped parsley
1. In a large saucepan, saute
onions, celery and chilli pepper in the olive oil. Cook
until onions begin to look translucent.
2. Add chicken stock, pumpkin,
bay leaf and cumin. Bring to the boil. Reduce heat and
simmer, uncovered, for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
3. Remove bay leaf. Add
evaporated milk and cook over low heat for 5 minutes. Do not
boil. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
4. Transfer soup into individual
soup bowls or a large tureen. Garnish with grated or thinly
sliced Parmesan or Gruyere cheese, and chopped parsley.
