"I opened two packets
of aspartame sweetener, and dumped one in a corner of each
of our bathrooms. That was about 2 years ago and I have
not seen any carpenter ants for about 9 to 12 months. It
works better than the most deadly poisons I have tried."

If it
kills ants, what about us . . . ?
In 1996, Professor R Walon
of Ohio's University College of Medicine analysed 164 medical
studies dealing with the safety of aspartame in humans.
He found that every study funded by the aspartame industry
claimed there were no health problems associated with its
use.
However, of those studies
that had no connections to the industry, almost all identified
health problems with the sweetener.
These included headaches,
memory loss, dizziness, rashes, depression, hyperactivity
and rages.
Some have linked it to
epilepsy, Parkinson's Disease, MS and brain tumours.
Aspartame is found in brightly-coloured
cans of soft drinks, yoghurts, desserts, chewing gum, baked
beans, crisps and top-selling fruit drinks. It is also found
in toothpaste, and cheap vitamins and medicines, particularly
those targeted at children.
