Swine Flu - What can you do to protect Yourself
It has been well documented that in the UK the situation has moved from one of 'containment' to
'treatment' as the number of people catching swine flu continues to rise.Health Secretary
Andy Burnham has said that cases are doubling every week and if it continues at this rate there could be over 100,000 cases per day by the end of August.
One hundred cases a day means some 3 million in a month. The question
then arises as to how it will be dealt with. It is thought that most
people will suffer mild symptoms and recover quickly; still, there will be
large numbers of people who become very ill and many fatalities. People
who have been in contact with Swine Flu will not be given anti-viral drugs
unless they are confirmed as having contracted it. It is a difficult
situation. You will find a link at the bottom of this newsletter to
Government Information about Swine Flu and what the Government intends to
do about it. There are also suggestions to help you avoid it. However, as
with most things, those most able to cope with it will be in a much better
position to fight it and it remains as true of Swine Flu as with other
forms of flu (and indeed simple colds) that ensuring your immune system is
as strong as possible is vitally important; those with suppressed immune
systems will be far more at risk. So how can you boost your immune
system? We have published a two part newsletter concerning this important
subject.
Our Newsletter suggest a number of nutritional supplements that may
help you achieve this and links to another that discusses the generalities
of the subject.
