Why take Similase?
Disordered or incomplete digestion can be a major contributor to the
development of numerous health problems. Chronic digestive problems
can lead to the development of sensitivities as well as an imbalance
of gut flora and the build up of toxins. These toxins may enter the
systemic circulation, compromising health further.
How does Similase work?
Similase is a plant enzyme formula which may help optimise nutrient
digestion by aiding the enzymes produced in the gastrointestinal tract
to carry out their function more efficiently. Similase contains enzymes
which operate across a wide pH spectrum – from the acid conditions of
the stomach (as low as pH1) through to the alkalinity of the small intestine
(as high as pH12).
Benefits of a Plant-Based Enzyme Formula
(please
read this important notice concerning supplement medical claims)
• Aids digestion of proteins, carbohydrates, fats, fibre and sugars.
• Active across a wide range of pH conditions – from pH1 to pH12.
• Helps to break down food in the stomach for around 30-60 minutes or
more before stomach contents are passed into the intestines. Digestive
enzymes help support the optimal absorption of nutrients from food.
• Helps to break down potentially antigenic constituents such as wheat
and milk proteins.
• Maintains stability in the acid environment of the stomach, unlike
animal-derived pancreatic enzymes.
• Well-tolerated by sensitive individuals.
Important Note
Similase is not intended for use by patients with gastric or duodenal
ulcer, or with active gastritis.
Each capsule of Similase typically
contains:
365mg Proprietary Enzyme Blend, providing:
15000 USP Protease, 16000 USP Amylase, 175 CU Cellulase, 1050 LU Lipase,
0.85 PU Phytase, 800 LacU Lactase, 150INVU Sucrase, 16050 Maltase.
Encapsulated with: Microcrystalline
cellulose, Natural polysaccharide capsule (UltraCaps)
Features
• Amylase is the enzyme responsible for breaking down starch. Maltase,
sucrase and lactase convert the disaccharides maltose, sucrose and lactose
into monosaccharides.
• Protease is the enzyme responsible for breaking down protein into
peptides, polypeptides and amino acids.
• Lipase is the enzyme responsible for breaking down fats into triglycerides,
monoglycerides and fatty acids.
• Cellulase is the enzyme responsible for breaking down cellulose.
• Phytase is the enzyme responsible for breaking down phytates. These
substances can inhibit the absorption of some essential minerals.
