Support healthy kinase activity and sound
insulin function with Insinase and UltraMeal Plus 360o
Tough times sometimes call for tough
measures. It may be that all you want or need is a simple blood sugar
balancing formulation; there are of course numerous tried and tested
formulas with standard ingredients which we know work, and work well. But
when you're aiming to tackle the myriad of issues that long-term insulin
dysregulation can raise, then simply balancing blood sugar levels would
barely even scratch at the surface.
The alarming increase in the incidence of
insulin-related conditions, not least of which is obesity, has led to a mad
scramble by technology-led companies to produce magic bullet solutions. At
Metagenics, Dr Jeff Bland and his team have been committed to finding
natural solutions to the problem.
Metagenics' Functional Medicine Research
Center has been at the forefront of nutrigenomic scientific inquiry and has
been looking at new ways to enhance the already accepted benefits of the low
GL (Glycaemic Load) diet. The result of that research is the discovery of a
group of healthy-promoting food components called 'SKRMs', key components of
Insinase and UltraMeal Plus 360o.
What are SKRMs?
SKRMs are active components, found
naturally in foods, that help support healthy kinase activity in the body.
Kinases are enzymes that translate dietary signals to positively or
negatively influence numerous aspects of health. Many prevalent health
issues - including those related to insulin function - have been found to
have specific underlying kinase signalling components.
Groundbreaking clinical research at
Metagenics has found that the addition of SKRMs into a nutritional programme
significantly enhances the action of a low GL diet in patients requiring
support for 3 or more of the following:
What is Insinase?
Insinase is a tableted nutritional
supplement containing plant extracts from hops and acacia, two naturally
rich sources of SKRMs, which support healthy kinase signalling in adipocytes
- fat-storing cells involved in glucose utilisation and insulin signalling.
While hops and acacia have been utilised
medicinally for centuries, nutrigenomic research has uncovered new
applications for their use. By supporting healthy kinase signalling, these
plants may help support healthy blood sugar and triglyceride levels in a
profound way.
What is UltraMeal Plus 360o?
UltraMeal Plus 360 is an UltraMeal
formulation which has the addition of hops and acacia extract, as well as
plant sterols, to support healthy insulin function and cholesterol levels.
It is a powdered drink formula and each serving of UltraMeal Plus 360
contains the equivalent SKRM activity to that contained in one tablet of
Insinase.
Insinase tablets can be
ordered on the website (see buy button near top of page).

Research
During the research process, Metagenics
tested over 200 natural substances and extracts for their influence on
insulin responses in adipocyte cells. The best performing substances -
acacia and hops extract - were further scientifically tested and evaluated
in a human clinical study involving 44 participants. A clinical paper
backing up the research was published in The Federation of American
Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB) in 2007.

METAGENICS
EARNS NNFA GMP CERTIFICATION
WITH SOLID ‘A’ RATING
SAN CLEMENTE,
CA—October 3, 2003—Metagenics, Inc., announced that the National
Nutritional Foods Association (NNFA) recently awarded the company Good
Manufacturing Practices (GMP) certification and its sterling ‘A’ rating for
compliance to its rigorous standards. As the largest and oldest non-profit
organization dedicated to the natural products industry in the United States,
the NNFA’s GMP certification program is regarded as the nation’s gold
standard of natural product quality. The goal of the NNFA certification program
is to ensure that all elements of the company’s manufacturing processes meet
specified performance standards on each measure, including quality and disease
control, cleanliness and training, receiving and testing of raw materials, and
procedures for storage and distribution. In a comprehensive audit conducted by
third-party inspectors of Metagenics’ personnel, plants and grounds,
sanitation, equipment, quality operations, production and process controls, and
warehouse, distribution, and post-distribution practices, the company exceeded
the NNFA’s stringent standards to achieve certification.
“Over the last twenty years,
Metagenics has continually set the standard for natural product quality, safety,
and efficacy to become one of the world’s most trusted providers of
premium-quality nutritional products,” said Jeff Katke, Chairman and CEO of
Metagenics. “In recognition of the uncompromising efforts of the employees and
leadership team at Metagenics, we are proud to have successfully achieved NNFA
GMP certification. Many companies may claim they are GMP compliant, but few
allocate the financial resources to independently verify their GMP programs and
achieve GMP certification.”
Metagenics stands apart as the
premier company in the industry—not only making the financial commitment to
maintain NNFA GMP certification, but also to develop sophisticated methods of
proteomic testing to ensure high quality ingredient selection at its proteomics
research laboratory, and to advance clinical research to assess safety and
efficacy at its wholly owned and sponsored clinical research center.
