What is a Probiotic?
There are at least 150 different species of gut
bacteria that exist in the human digestive system. These gut bacteria should
live in harmony with each other – in a state of balance. Organisms such as
Candida albicans, known as unfriendly bacteria, can start to overpopulate
the gut if not kept in balance by sufficient quantities of other, friendly
bacteria.
Candida are known as unfriendly because once they become dominant, they can
cause unpleasant symptoms such as bloating, wind, sugar cravings, and
fatigue. The friendly bacteria promote good digestion, improve metabolism,
work against constipation and bloating, and generally help you to feel
better.
Many people now take probiotic supplements to increase the numbers of
friendly bacteria in their gut.
What is a Prebiotic?
A prebiotic such as Molkosan Vitality creates a
good environment in the gut, in which the friendly bacteria can flourish. A
poor gut environment won’t sustain good bacteria, even if you put in extra
amounts in the form of probiotic supplements. It can therefore be
ineffective to take probiotic supplements if you haven’t previously taken a
prebiotic, such as Molkosan Vitality, to prepare a suitable environment for
the friendly bacteria.
How does Molkosan Vitality work? What will it
do for me?
Molkosan Vitality is a prebiotic, taken before or
alongside probiotic supplements to ensure improved digestion and vitality.
In the production of Molkosan Vitality, a process involving lactobacillus
bacteria creates a positive and relatively rare form of lactic acid, which
has two main effects.
1. It makes it very difficult for unfriendly bacteria to gain a hold in the
gut.
2. It creates an acidic environment in the large intestine, in which
friendly bacteria thrive.
Once unfriendly bacteria have been discouraged and friendly bacteria are
given the environment they like, digestion and metabolism improve, and
energy levels increase.
You are likely to feel far more comfortable, with a marked reduction in
symptoms such as bloating, excessive wind, and constipation. You may find
that your weight control improves, with less sugar cravings and a feeling
that food is being broken down effectively rather than lying in your
stomach. Your energy levels will rise, alongside these positive changes to
your digestive health.
How should Molkosan Vitality be taken?
Add two heaped teaspoons (approx 10 g) of Molkosan
Vitality into a glass of cold water (approx 200 ml) and stir well. For best
results use at least once daily. Molkosan Vitality has a pleasant, natural
orange flavour; however, it may be stirred into juice instead of water if
preferred.
Is it best taken before or after meals?
Molkosan Vitality can be taken at any time.
Is it for long or short term use?
Take Molkosan Vitality for as long as necessary to
feel the benefits of improved digestion and energy levels, which will vary
from person to person. A month’s course is recommended initially. It can be
taken on an ongoing basis if needed to keep digestive problems at bay, or

L(+) Lactic Acid
A.Vogel Vitality is a rich source of L(+) lactic acid. Lactic acid
exists in two forms L(+) and D(-). In making A.Vogel Vitality, the special
fermentation process converts natural lactose (milk sugar) to L(+) lactic
acid. L(+) lactic acid is not commonly found but is known to have a number
of significant beneficial properties.

How does Molkosan®
help?
Taking A.Vogel Molkosan
Vitality before meals stimulates the secretion of digestive enzymes
throughout the whole digestive system, thus avoiding fermentation or rotting
of food residues and the resulting gases. It is particularly effective on
the pancreas, adding to its beneficial effect on gut flora, because if the
pancreas is working well, unfriendly bacteria find it harder to flourish.
Due to its high potassium content, Molkosan helps to dispel excess water
from the tissues, whilst its vitamin B content supports carbohydrate
metabolism, ensuring that sugars and starches are turned into water and
carbonic acid gas, which can leave the body via the lungs, bowel and
kidneys. The overall effect appears to be a speeding up of the general
metabolic process.
The orotic acid content helps to buffer acids that are formed when fats are
burnt in the body, reducing acidic wastes.
