Reduced Glutathione is the reduced form of the amino acid glutathione. In the reduced form it is biologically more active.

Glutathione (GSH) is composed of three amino acids:

glycine
glutamic acid
cysteine

GSH is found at very high concentrations in the lens of the eye.

GSH is essential for the formation of glutathione peroxidase, a potent antioxidant enzyme that protects the lipid membranes of cells and tissues from free radicals.
