We're always getting asked about products that help to lose weight. We're not at all happy with many of the products available but one product we do have an awful lot of time for is Aquasource Lighten-Up!   Lighten-Up! Is the natural replacement for missed or hurried meals.  It can be used as part of a weight loss programme as it reduces fat instead of fluids.

A low calorie nutritional protein drink is a very natural, easy way to shed a few excess pounds this summer - PROVIDED it contain a sensible balance of protein and carbohydrates along with fibre and sufficient vitamins and minerals to ensure you lose weight slowly and healthily without a reduction in energy. Simple carbohydrates (with the exception of fructose, fruit sugar) are basically sugars (glucose) so they are immediately absorbed into the bloodstream, causing a rise in blood sugar levels. By comparison, complex carbohydrates need more time to be broken down into glucose. So they don't raise blood sugar levels as fast as simple carbohydrates. This is why nutritionists recommend that we restrict our consumption of simple carbohydrates and eat complex carbohydrates instead.

Researchers cited almonds' heart-healthy monounsaturated fat as being very satiating, helping satisfy the appetite and prevent patients from overeating.

Two scoops of Lighten-Up! blended with apples, ginger, lemon and red berries - this is a delicious combination of natural vitamins and antioxidants, plus ginger is a natural antibiotic and decongestant. Add fruit juice, milk or yoghurt to taste.

Immune System Boost:

Two scoops of Lighten-Up!  blended with raw beetroot, apples, lemon, carrot, handful of fresh parsley and broccoli florets (Add more apples to vegetable juices for a sweeter flavour until you get used to the taste). Add fruit juice, milk or yoghurt to taste.

Fruit Medley:
