The Sun
Bronze naturally and safely
“Having pale skin, I always
go from white to lobster and peel back to white again in the sun, no
matter what I do. Last summer I tried
Sun Love
and went a satisfying golden brown colour for the first time ever! I
would recommend it to anyone.”
Sophie Inglis
The
sun’s rays are important for health and not just for making vitamin
D. Yet we are right to be cautious. Today we're offered sun block with
SPF (sun protection factors) up to 50. But almost all these chemical
sunscreens are full of unhealthy ingredients. So what to do?
Marianne
Seger at the Swiss Institute for Bioinformation has been testing and
perfecting a natural sun formula for years, and the result is Sun Love,
a totally new approach. Sun Love is based on a natural form of melanin,
the body’s own tanning agent, from sunflowers, which ‘feeds’ the body’s
own tanning process. Since a suntan is the body’s own protection mechanism
against sun damage, helping your skin to develop your own tan naturally
is the best possible protection you can have.
But
bio-melanin is not the only secret. It is packed full of antioxidants,
including Green Tea, Rutin, Vitamins A, E, Co-enzyme Q10 and Sea
Buckthorn Oil (rich in vitamin C), plus a very rare oil from Morocco.
Argan oil, prepared by a 1000-year-old secret method, now only known
by a handful of Berber women, moisturises and supports the skin’s regenerative
powers. MSM, Aloe Vera and Starflower Oil are also used.
Almost
as important! Sun Love contains NO titanium dioxide or other chemical
or mineral sunblock agents. Nor does it contain sodium lauryl sulphate,
PEG emulsifiers, propylene glycol, chemical dyes, synthetic fragrances
or chemical preservatives, and of course has not been tested on animals.
But
don’t slather it on and hit a hot beach on day one. Develop your tan
first by building your exposure time over a few days. Sun Love can also
be used instead of your daily moisturiser when exposed to the sun (or
applied over your Energys Moisteriser an hour later). Sun Love carries
a natural SPF of 7-8. You don’t need a chemical 50; your tan will be
your own protection!
