Make sure your next
breath is a breath of Fresh Air
Remember that feeling you've
experienced near a waterfall or high in the mountains, or by the
sea?
That invigorating
feeling is created naturally with electrically charged molecules
called negative ions.

What are the benefits
of using an Ioniser to clean the air around us?
-
According to the book,
The Ion Effect, negative ions are effective for allergies,
asthma, catarrh, hay ever, sinusitis, eczema, burns, emphysema,
and even as a substitute for tranquilizers. It was discovered
that negative ions balance serotonin in the body, and this explains
why people tend to feel more alert, stable and energized in
the presence of negative ions.
-
Ionisers send out negative ions (which are found naturally by
the sea and in the mountains, and after thunderstorms)
-
Ionisers make the air feel fresher and more invigorating
-
Ionisers help with hayfever, asthma, chronic catarrh, bronchitis
and migraine
-
Ionisers can help with cross infection, as most germs are airborne
-
Ionisers help in offices where computer screens send out positive
ions and headaches can occur
-
Ionisers counteract the positive ions caused in offices by air
conditioning and ducted central heating, which can cause headaches
and tiredness
-
Ionisers remove cigarette smoke and the stale smell that lingers
How does an ioniser
work?
An ion
is simply a particle that has either a negative or a positive charge.
Negative ions create a fresh and invigorating feeling in the air.
The
negative ions created by the ioniser flood the room and bond with
positively charged particles, such as bacteria, dust, pollen, smoke,
chemical gasses, mould and other allergens.
Once
they have bonded (opposites attract!), the new, heavier, particles
are too heavy to float in the air, and they fall to the ground,
where they can be cleaned in the usual way.
Indoor pollution can
we worse than outdoor pollution
Most people spend
on average 90% of their time indoors and in many homes and commercial
buildings the indoor air is more polluted than the air outdoors.
Much of this is a result of chemicals used in cleaning and 'off
gassing' from carpets, curtains and other soft materials which have
been sprayed with formaldehyde and other chemicals whilst in the
factory.
We often think of
pollution as being on the outside, near busy roads and factories.
We don't want car exhaust or factory emissions to cause health hazards.
But indoor air pollution remains a serious problem. Dust and mould
collects inside heating and air conditioning ducts. Higher humidity
inside allows bacteria to thrive. An air ionizer addresses these
home and office sources of pollution and odour. The ozone that is
created when negative ions are generated, deals with pollution by
breaking it down into smaller, harmless components. Ozone makes
it more difficult for germs to grow, and deodorizes at the same
time.
Ionizers are plugged
in at an electrical socket, and need very little power. They run
very quietly, unlike fan-driven air purifiers.
If you are you a homeowner,
business owner, boat owner or other property owner, you will find
ionisers a natural solution for eliminating odours and purifying
the air around you.
What are the benefits
and advantages of Ionisers over other air filters, such as Hepa
Filters?
Ionisers
remove finer particles than either HEPA filters, electronic air
cleaners, or any other type of air purifier available. A fan-type
air filter can only filter the air that is drawn through it, whereas
negative ions disperse throughout the room causing particles to
drop out of the air.
